Article Five: Membership
Membership in the SAMC is voluntary. Membership eligibility is set forth below:
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP: All individuals who have been previously inducted into a TRADOC or FORSCOM Sergeant Audie Murphy Club are eligible for regular membership.
-
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP:
Honorary membership may be extended to selected personnel who fit the image of a SAMC member but would not normally be allowed to compete. Careful evaluation must be taken by the approving authority to maintain the spirit and intent of the club. Honorary members will receive the membership certificate, membership card and medallion.
SGT Morales Club members in good standing will be extended honorary membership. They will receive a membership card and the opportunity to participate in all SAMC activities. A majority vote from the general membership in attendance at the time of membership proposal must be made by a member and upon approval forwarded to the installation CSM for approval. They will not receive a Certificate of Achievement or medallion.
Upon recommendation, the installation CSM will review and approve all honorary memberships. The installation CSM will then forward the name, rank, SSN, MOS and current unit of assignment of honorary members to the TRADOC CSM.
-
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP: Non-DoD personnel who are not otherwise eligible to become regular or honorary members, but who support the aims and objectives of the SAMC, may be recommended and granted associate membership following the same procedures for honorary members in paragraph 1, b (1) of this article. Associate members shall be non-voting members.
MEMBERSHIP REMOVAL. Any regular member may be removed from the membership roll for conduct unbecoming. Any member may submit recommendation for removal based on a punitive action or non-punitive administrative letter of reprimand, admonition, censure, or other non-punitive measures. The office of the Installation CSM will notify the SAMC MFLWC Recorder of a dropped member.
VOTING. Members shall have the right to vote on all matters properly brought before a general meeting. Each member gets one vote.
TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP. Membership shall remain current as long as the member has not been removed by the Executive Council.
