Article Fourteen: Standing Committees

  1. The Executive Council will annually appoint a Finance and Audit Committee. The committee shall consist of at least three but no more than five members of the general membership. Additionally, the Vice-President and the Treasurer shall be ex-officio members of the committee. The finances and audit committee duties shall include engaging and discharging auditors, reviewing audit policies and financial controls, examining audit reports, meeting with the SAMC MFLWC’s treasurer and reviewing all financial and budgetary matters of SAMC MFLWC.

  2. The Executive Council will annually appoint a By-Laws Committee. The committee shall consist of at least three but no more than five members of the general membership. Additionally, the Vice-President and the Treasurer shall be ex-officio members of the committee. The results of this committee will also be used to revalidate the status of the SAMC MFLWC as a private organization. The committee will examine the current laws, receive proposed amendments and make recommendations for change. A proposed amendment will first be approved by a majority vote of the Executive Council. All approved amendments will be ratified by a majority vote of the regular membership present at the next scheduled SAMC MFLWC meeting.

  3. The Executive Council will annually appoint a Marketing Committee. The committee shall consist of at least three but no more than five members of the general membership. Additionally, the Vice-President and the Treasurer shall be ex-officio members of the committee. The committee shall examine ways to further membership esprit de corps through local purchase of marketing items that display membership in the SAMC MFLWC.

  4. The Executive Council will annually appoint a Public Affairs Committee. The committee shall consist of at least three but no more than five members of the general membership. Additionally, the Vice-President and the Treasurer shall be ex-officio members of the committee. The committee will serve as the historian for the SAMC MFLWC and liaisons with the installation Public Affairs and Newspaper offices. They will ensure the SAMC MFLWC events are published in a timely manner throughout the installation. The committee is also responsible for ensuring new members receive a copy of the mission statement, vision, goals and By-Laws as a minimum upon entry into membership.
